WDC’s Whale Festival

Come celebrate the awesomeness of these magnificent creatures!

Check out our 2020 Whale Festival and check back for 2021 info!

WDC kicked-off World Ocean’s Day with a kid-friendly presentation to introduce you to some special people who are taking trash OUT of the ocean and making something with it - and you won't believe what they are making!

Thanks to Kim Bernard and Ocean Sole for sharing their amazing work!

Author John Himmelman reads his book, Ibis, a True Whale Story, which tells the true story of a humpback whale. This story, retold by a six-year-old, inspired Steve Schuch to write a song. Then artist and scientist Rich Dolan shares some of his handmade whale models.

Thanks to John Himmelman, Steve Schuch, and  Rich Dolan.

Have you ever wondered if whales have a favorite food? How they sleep underwater? Are they afraid of boats? How can you get a job working with whales?

You will have a chance to ask some whale experts! We will have a pair of whale scientists who are ready to answer any questions you may have.

Thank you to our 2020 Sponsors!
