Position: Fundraising Associate --- Open

WDC (Whale and Dolphin Conservation) is looking for a dedicated Fundraising Associate to add to our team at the North American office. They will work with its Fundraising Manager and the Communications Team to develop and implement fundraising and marketing efforts to support WDC’s science, conservation, and outreach efforts. A benefit package is included, along with a chance to see whales in the wild.

Main Tasks

  • Research, develop and submit funding proposals including, but not limited to foundation and corporate requests.
  • Tracking budgets, analyzing data and writing reports for internal use and grant reporting
  • Work with communications team to develop and deliver marketing materials
  • Plan, organize and execute annual WDC events
  • Support all fundraising and marketing activities of WDC – foundation, special events, corporate and individual
  • Work as part of a team to support WDC in its vision of a world where every whale and dolphin is safe and free.
  • To perform other related duties as required

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor degree required
  • 3+ years of previous experience working in fundraising and/or grant writing, preferably for a nonprofit
  • Outstanding organization skills
  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products necessary; CRM and project management software helpful
  • Experience with website management, graphic design, and social media is preferred
  • Must be able to work some nights and weekends


Position: Program Assistant: Administration and Outreach ---- NO LONGER TAKING APPLICATIONS

WDC (Whale and Dolphin Conservation) is looking for a dedicated Program Assistant to add to our team at the North American office. They will oversee the administrative duties of the office while engaging with supporters and donors in a number of different ways. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to share their administrative skills with a growing nonprofit.

Main Tasks:

  • To oversee and fulfill administrative duties of the WDC-NA office.
  • To engage with supporters, donors, and other interested persons for the purposes of communication, public outreach, education, funding, and scientific research.
  • Provide general support for the staff of the WDC- NA office.
  • Together with other staff, to enable the Executive Director (ED) to fulfill his/her required functions and to ensure that the ED receives appropriate and timely information and advice on all relevant matters.
  • To perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills required
  • Excellent writing skills required.
  • Advanced computer skills required (proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Salesforce desired)
  • Experience with social media platforms for professional use is a plus
  • Must be able to work some nights and weekends
