An annual hunt of minke whales off the coast of Japan resulted in the deaths of 35 whales this autumn, consisting of 22 males and 13 females, according to local news sources.
The whalers had been hoping to hunt 77 whales but poor weather hampered their efforts. During the summer, another 50 whales were killed in coastal waters.
