WDC centre to benefit from community fund

WDC’s Scottish Dolphin Centre is one of 14 community projects to receive financial backing from the Beatrice Community Fund.

The WDC centre in Moray, will benefit to the tune of £46,544 respectively and help the centre continue its work to protect whales and dolphins.

The Beatrice Community Fund is designed to deliver high quality projects of a transformational nature in accordance with the wishes of local communities. Funds supports strategic projects, like the Scottish Dolphin Centre, that can deliver significant impacts in local communities around the coastal regions of Caithness and Sutherland (Highland) and Moray. Priority areas include enhancing education and employment opportunities, supporting communities through projects that bring social or environmental benefits and helping regeneration whether in landscape, biodiversity or heritage.

Fraser Grieve, Chair of the Beatrice Partnership Fund independent Panel, added: “We had some incredibly strong applications for funding come forward and it’s great to see a whole manner of projects benefit that will all make a contribution to their communities. Each project brings something different to their area but all of them will hopefully have a positive impact on the lives of those living there.”
