Close Encounters…

I had a wonderful day recently out at sea onboard Aberdeen University‘s research boat. We covered a lot of area before thankfully coming across some of the local Bottlenose dolphins, including the lovely female called Spirit, one of the WDC Adopt a Dolphins who had her two year old calf with her and was in amongst a fair sized group of Mum & youngster pairs. I haven’t been lucky enough to have seen Spirit up as close as this for a long while, only far in the distance and it was great to see how healthy both her and and her youngster were looking – all that feeding on the shoals of mackerel obviously agreeing with them! You can Adopt Spirit and five other members of the population.
