Controversial Arizona dolphinarium set for October opening

A new dolphinarium that has been built in the Arizona desert is set to open on October 15th according to the company’s website.

The construction of the Mexican-owned Dolphinaris, which has the potential to hold up to 12 dolphins, has come in for widespread criticism from the local community and beyond.

So far, three male dolphins and two females have been brought in from California. The facility will offer swim-with packages, despite the potential dangers involved in taking part such activities and negative impact on the dolphins.

Find out more about why whales and dolphins should not be held in captivity.
