Mystery over fin whale deaths in Canada
Scientists are trying to work out what caused the death of three young fin whales that were found washed up on remote beach in British Columbia.
The endangered whales were found together at Bird Point and are thought to be juvenile males. Samples have been taken from the whales to try and determine if they may have been poisoned by something in their prey. Adding to the scientists’ concerns is that there have been a large number of unexplained whale deaths along the coastlines of British Columbia and Alaska this year with over 40 whales of different species already recorded.
