Woman dies after collision between ship and gray whale

A Canadian woman has died from injuries sustained in a highly unusual accident involving either a gray or humpback whale.  Two other people received minor injuries after the whale surfaced near a boat that they were travelling in near the resort city of Cabo San Lucas in Mexico.

It appears the captain of the boat had to make a sudden movement to avoid the whale as it surfaced just in front of the vessel. Confusion surrounds the incident but one statement from the company involved suggested that that the lady concerned may have fallen into the water during the collision. She was then pulled back into the boat but later died in hospital.
