Dolphin meat confiscated in Taiwan

Taiwanese authorities announced on Tuesday that they found over seven tonnes of dolphin meat in a frozen goods factory in the city of Kaohsiung over the weekend.

It is estimated that the meat came from around 150 dolphins. The factory owner, who claims the meat came from local fishermen, faces a possible jail sentence and fine for breaching Taiwan’s wildlife laws which protects all whales and dolphins.
