Hi, I am back! Today I am going to talk about how I started my fundraiser at school.
First I showed my report to my teacher Mr. B. He said I should show it to the principal. When I did, the principal said he would ask the Student Council if we could do a fundraiser at the school. Then we waited for the Council’s reply.
When we got the results back we were thrilled! I asked Mr. B to help me with the fundraiser, he said YES! So we got all the things set up. I told my friend Terri and she said she could get the whale- and dolphin-shaped cookie cutters. My mom and dad said they could help me bake. I also make really great chocolate candies that I could sell. And so we had a lot of baking ahead of us. Everything was piecing together!!
Meanwhile, my friends and family were sending me their donations. Then my GREAT parents surprised me by saying we could plan a trip to Plymouth, Massachusetts to visit WDC to deliver the money raised so far.

When my Spring Break came along we went to Plymouth. I was so excited! We went to Plymouth Plantation and saw recreations of Pilgrim and Wampanoag villages. If you have a little time and want to see something cool, you should look into it. I loved Plymouth.
Then came the day when we would go to the WDC office!! I was kind of scared at first but once I got to know everyone I was nervous no longer. I met Sue, Karen, and Monica. Sue showed me pictures of all of the whales the they have spotted from their database. It was cool!! Karen told us about the Right Whale Project WDC is doing to save the Right Whales. Monica showed me a HUGE piece of baleen! It was a lot taller than me. While we were there, I delivered the donations from family and friends – which totaled $748.00! Everyone at the office was sooo nice!
When I grow up I want to work at WDC and help whales and dolphins. I think that would be the job for me! Check back soon to hear about the bake sale.
