The amazing ‘summer’ of British sport continued on Sunday 23rd September. Following on from the successes of the London Olympics and Paralympic Games, a team of WDCS supporters and staff (spurred on by BBC TV presenter and WDCS patron, Miranda Krestovnikoff) battled heavy rain and wind to beat over 20 other crews to take the gold medals at this year’s Bristol Dragon Boat race.
Miranda (pictured with trophy), who beat out the rhythm from the bow of the boat, and the rest of the ‘whale of a team’ boat crew not only set the fastest course records throughout the four hour competition but also raised vital funds for WDCS work.
WDCS would like to thank the entire crew and those who came along to offer support. We hope you have dried out by now!
