Normal Service Will Be Resumed…

Hi Everyone,

I’m back at work now after a bit of a complicated and hectic period involving destroyed camera gear and a family bereavement – I hope that you haven’t missed me too much 😉

A few weeks ago I was doing a bit of filming with BBC Newsround out on a boat and a combination of the boat speeding up, wind and tide conditions and just bad luck meant a huge wave came over the side of the boat right where I was and sadly two of my cameras and two zoom lenses (thankfully not my huge lens) were swamped in seawater. The BBC camerman had a lucky escape but even he was worried about his big filming camera as it was given a slightly less heavy soaking than my equipment but salt water can destroy electrical gizmo’s quicker than you can say “Bottlenose dolphin”.

I’m waiting for replacement gear to come from my insurance company, hopefully in the next few days and then we can get back to normal.

Best Wishes,

Charlie.
