Scottish Dolphin Centre
Watch wild dolphins at the Scottish Dolphin Centre

Would you like a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience working with the public across a wide range of activities and events at WDC’s Scottish Dolphin Centre?

At Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC) our vision is for a world where every whale and dolphin is safe and free. We are currently looking for three enthusiastic and passionate individuals to join our team at the WDC Scottish Dolphin Centre, in Moray, North East Scotland, to help deliver WDC’s objectives. The aim of the roles are to deliver a fun and high quality visitor experience through events and interpretation and raise awareness of the work of Whale and Dolphin Conservation. Our residential volunteers will be involved in delivering our Education, Shorewatch & Events programme at the Centre and also across the North East of Scotland.

Read about the experiences of being a volunteer.

The Centre is sited in a former salmon fishing station (which is over 200 years old) and in a beautiful location adjacent to a reserve at the mouth of the river Spey where the river meets the North Sea.  The area is a haven for wildlife not just the bottlenose dolphins who can be seen feeding regularly along the coastline, but also migratory ospreys, seals, the occasional otter and a huge variety of sea, waders, song and coastal birds.

As the public face of the charity, our aim is to amaze and inspire our visitors (we have over 95,000 every year) to the world of whales and dolphins, in particular the Moray Firth’s resident population of bottlenose dolphins (the largest in the world) and how we work to protect the marine life, not just in the North East of Scotland but all over the world.

Spey Bay is not accessible by public transport, the nearest town (Fochabers) is 4 miles away so a full driving licence and a car are preferable, HOWEVER, it is not essential.

For full details please download the relevant role description and if you are applying for more than one role then please put your preference in order.  Complete the application/equal opportunities form below and email to volunteers.scotland@whales.org contact Lisa Farley for more details on 01343 820339

Please note that we are unable to accept CVs as an application, further details about the WDC Scottish Dolphin Centre can be found at dolphincentre.whales.org

Closing date: 5pm Wednesday 7th February 2018.

Interviews will be held via Skype on Tues 13th, Wed & Thurs 15th
